He was born into wealth. He has done remarkably well to become President of the USA, there's no doubt about that - that is a remarkable achievement, but that doesn't make him a good person or a good leader. History is littered with people that have achieved high office that are complete scumbags.

I listened to the Mr Cruz video. The political shenanigans by the outgoing Democrats does not surprise me. The blatant hypocrisy of the Democrats doesn’t surprise me.
I am surprised by the venom expression on this a UK site against fellow ABers for holding a different opinion. Shame.

We know what Trump said, cassa, and in what context (I.e. it wasn’t about the financial state of the US / unemployment or anything other than the incident which led to his death / possible murder). What I, and other ABers are gobsmacked about is anyone, let alone a POTUS, using a recently deceased, possibly murdered, US citizen’s memory to make a political point (I.e. that something will be done to stop black people being indiscriminately murdered). It was crass and shameful.

What about "this day" is so "great"? Please tell me you don't seriously think it was when Trump read a prepared statement from a cue card, in the context of a 40-minute speech about how brilliant the economy had become, and in a speech that finished:

what’s happened to our country, and what you now see that’s been happening, is the greatest thing that can happen for race relations, for the African-American community, for the Asian-Americans, for the Hispanic American community, for women, for everything.
Because our country is so strong, and that’s what my plan is. We’re going to have the strongest economy in the world."

So, no. You've taken his words out of context by forgetting to listen to the whole speech and not just the snippet you want. Ironic, really.
