On seeing the news reports of small children returning to school yesterday, was anyone else uncomfortable with it? The social distancing rules they’re obliged to follow through the whole school day can’t make for a psychologically healthy environment for them. I couldn’t help feeling that they’d be better off being allowed to play with their friends and just getting on with school as it usually is - or staying home until such time as they can do that. I wouldn’t be happy sending a child to school in those circumstances.

The mind boggles :0) well if you fail with your own plans/ rules/ directives, just invent some more.
I'm not sure what you are referring to there teacake at 13:03
I would have thought that the correct response to making a mistake is to apologise for that mistake, rather than to mock the need for sophistication in epidemic modelling.
13.03 what do you mean? I know you acknowledged you don't watch the briefings, so where are you getting your info from? Are you referring to the five tests?
18th March:
34 Deaths - all schools to close with immediate effect.

3rd June:
359 Deaths - schools to reopen because it's safe to.

Doesn’t make any sense.
gromit at the first point infections were climbing and the rapid increase in cases was foreseen. Now the infection rate and death rate is falling. Additionally the school attendance of the children of keyworkers has given information about what works and what doesn't and the risks involved.....but I think you knew this
Data point 1, taken out of context -- action taken that seemed appropriate at the time.
Data point 2, again taken out of context -- different action taken that may also make sense given what we now know.

I do enjoy the Private Eye Number Crunching, but only for wry amusement rather than because it makes for a coherent argument.

The partial re-opening of schools isn't really the issue with the changes this week.
Gromit, whilst I acknowledge the thought you put into most posts and the way you argue with conviction for what you believe in I feel on Covid you are making points that are not valid or logical but are just political point scoring. Your post at 13:24 is a good example. There was another earlier which I'll look up if you want. Some of your points on other topics are convincing, thought provoking and refreshing but not on this topic
she had a good day
I’m glad your daughter had a good day :)
