Been watching Normal People and, while it is excellent, it is also dark and depressing. I find that with much of today’s pop music too - Adele, Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol, etc. Even today’s comedians don’t give me belly laughs like those I grew up watching. No decent sitcoms on telly now. Don’t you think too much of today’s youth culture is too bloomin miserable, or is it just me?!

I've watched Star Wars so many times now. Love it! Empire Strikes Back is my fave of the original trilogy.
what??? What about Phantom Menace? :-)

"Meesa thinks you are trolling me" ;o)
Nope...None of them.

Return of the Jedi was always my favourite, but it was also the one that George Lucas broke the worst with his tinkering in the 90s.
ummmm: "I've never watched Star Wars :-) " - congrats, you have independently developed Yoda's Diction!

Watched Star Wars, Ummmm has not.
the first three (episodes 4,5 & 6) are the best, episodes 1,2,3 are mostly awful, I've seen them once, twice for AOTC which is the best of the worst 3, TPM is diabolical and an affront to the franchise. Rogue one is best of the rest, Solo not too bad but none of them can I watch again and again like the original 3. I still have Skywalker on the planner to watch when I'm in the mood.
Mozz: Out loud I am laughing!
I was especially disappointed with TPM, I went to see it at the flicks in 99 and what with the hype and the bottomless pit of a budget for the first film 19 years after ROTJ, I expected something spectacular. What was he thinking with JarJar and the whole Gungan thing? Radio rental!

On the whole I agree with you. Rogue One (apart from the terrible CGI Leia at the end) was superb, and I quite enjoy the new trilogy. The Last Jedi is the weakest of the three, but Rise of Skywalker is good fun. And added Lando for us old'uns.

I really recommend The Mandalorian if you can get it. It's all kinds of good. Part Star Wars, part Spaghetti Western.
Oh, I do think Attack of the Clones is just as bad as The Phantom Menace though.
I have to agree. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 and Rogue One and Solo don't seem to cut it so much with me.

Mozz, I escorted jno jnr to a midnight screening of Phantom Mencase on its first day. Well, that's 24 hours of sleep I'll never get back, and I think all his young hopes and dreams were destroyed too.
Mencase??
Turned out to be the cultural attache
Jno. My lad had no interest in the prequels either. He loved the original trilogy, and was fairly ambivalent about the sequels. Well, until Han and Chewie turned up at least.

The last few episodes of the Clone Wars cartoon did help rescue Episode III a little, but I've still got zero desire to watch it again.
