Popular detective drama 'Cardinal' returns tonight at 9pm. And it has moved to BBC2. I know there are fans of the programme among ABers, and you will be pleased to know, it's a double-bill :-)

I've never seen it Ken but a friend mentioned it this morning and said how good it is so I was delighted to see that I can get the previous series on iPlayer. Look forward to it - interesting chemistry between the two leads and gorgeous wintry scenery I understand.
the plot - before I lose it - the local Cardinal Archbishop is used to hitting his colleagues - yes ! beating the bishops. He is called Shabba-Lala Holmes and has set up the no 6 Detective agency with the sacristan of the cathedral. When he hears of clerical abuse - he puts out feelers for ....

Too late, you've already lost it!
Really looking forward to the return of this.
The first 3 seasons were superb & I'm really looking forward to this, the final season.

Didn't disappoint, imho. Couldn't resist watching episode 3 on I-player and will probably finish the series by Friday evening. No spoilers from me though, on my oath.
I'd never heard of this but in the listings it looked quite gritty so I recorded it. After reading this thread I'm pleased I did. Thank you.
It was really good, quite chilling! I think I will watch it on iPlayer now I know how to do it.
I've watched the first two episodes this evening, the first time I've seen any of it. Blimey, gritty is an understatement, phew,I hope it doesn't get any grizzlier, if that's a word.

The first 3 series were broadcast on BBC4 and are all available on I-player. There is no real need to watch the previous series in order to thoroughly enjoy series 4. However, those first 3 do give the viewer the character's back stories, which can be quite informative as to their current behaviour.
I watched it having only seen 1 half of one episode before (young naked guy strapped to a chair).
I didn't get the beginning but I presume that was something that had happened previously?
So thank you very much. Not!
At the start of this lockdown I said to myself that I would avoid any box sets to keep mind and body clear to do useful things when I was a little intrigued by the very scenic trailer.
Reading here how good it was I started with the first episode and have since been enthralled - even though it's like a cross between Rhod Gilbert does Lewis...

Now then, back to 'By The Time You Read This' episode four.

Damn you Ken4155
Just finished the last episode of Series 1. I shall start Series 2 later today. It's very chilling, I had to look away at times. I must be a glutton for punishment.
Another one to add to my download list.........!

Just watching Gangs of London which is a bit of a gore fest but excellent.
