As if the government haven't got enough on their plate to deal with all the flak from the armchair 'know alls' and meaningless statistics it would seem another group is out there to try to thwart their every step.
Now we have scammers already posing as NHS track and tracers team members and the scheme hasn't fully got off the ground. I am optimistic there will be an end to this pandemic but people like this will only promote more distrust and prolong it

// Forcing everyone to use an app that doesn’t work is one of your more bonkers suggestions.// trenchant accurate grom-grom

er Normal for AB that is!

Grom go and sit on the naughty AB step for being right ( and knowing it)
09.35 "Gromit you seem to be enjoying it ". Not as much as you are TTT, at your attempt to turn this post nasty, judging by your reply. You just can't help it can you
ok they ballsed up the app, get one that works off the Chinese and enforce it like the Chinese otherwise it's pointless.
What, the World Beating test and trace doesn't work (who's surprised) ? Treasonable utterances of the worst kind all the same.
TTT,
From the FT:
// The NHS has already begun building a second smartphone app to trace the spread of the coronavirus, after criticism of the first app it launched this week on the Isle of Wight.

The person said that, as testing had continued, the practicalities of making the first app work had become increasingly apparent.

The UK’s efforts to create a second contact tracing app in parallel are more advanced than the feasibility study first disclosed through an NHS IT contract earlier this week. But no final decision has yet been made on which will be widely released. //

Unfortunately the contract for the first app was given to buddies of Johnson and Cummings, so to ditch it would be very embarrassing. Which is why we are waiting 4 weeks for a decision.
Gromit//unfortunately the contract for the first app was given to buddies of Johnson and Cummings,//
Do you have proof or a link even, or is it just false news?
apparently the Cummings who is involved with it is NOT dom's sister but a woman of the same name. I will try to find the link
// enforce it like the Chinese otherwise it's pointless.//

you mean wiv tear gas and beating the crap out of the protesters ? well this is AB !
The UK corona app is being built by US company Palantir.
https://www.palantir.com/

Palantir’s tech billionaire owner is a big supporter of Trump.
So if the app does turn out to be rubbish, at least the taxpayers money will not have been wasted, it will have help re-elect the Donald.
Gromit @ 10.43, So false news then.
fullfact link. Alice Cummings is not involved with the tracking app https://fullfact.org/online/not-dominic-cummings-sister/

Cummings made his name running the Vote Leave campaign. On that campaign he used a company called ASI Data Science. They sourced a lot of their data from Cambridge Analytica who collected their data in a variety of highly dubious ways. There was a bit of a stink about it.
Cummings moved on to his next task, getting Boris Johnson elected. Meanwhile ASI Data Science‘s name was mud, so they simply changed it to ‘Faculty‘.
Cummings brought to Downing Street a digital advisor called Ben Warner. Warner accompanies Cummings to SAGE meetings. Between Cummings, Warner and NHS Improvement, the app was commissioned.
As well as Palantir, Microsoft, and Amazon, another company got a slice of the corona app action - Faculty.
Faculty was found and run by Marc Warner, Ben’s brother.
Since Ben’s arrival as digital advisor, Faculty have been awarded 6 Government contracts .

Meanwhile NHS Improvement is run by Dido Harding, the wife of a Conservative MP. She was previously CEO at TalkTalk when it had a massive data breach resulting in hackers stealing millions of customers bank details. This is the woman now entrusted with all the corona data collected by the app.
Gromit, see Woofgang's post at 10.56
Dannyk, Gromit hasn't mention Cummings' sister or other family members.
BTW
Dido Harding, in overall charge of NHS Improvement, and in charge of Track and Trace is an old University buddy of David Cameron.
Her CV includes: Woolworths (whatever happened to them), and Thomas Cooke (Whatever happe...).
Not to mention again the TalkTalk debacle that cost them £100 million.
A long history of failure, so the perfect woman for the job.
My neighbour, Mr.Jones, has no connections to Cumming's non-sister so stop suggesting there is anything odd about the app, the World Beating Trace/Track/Isolate or how any aspect was formulated/set up......
