I need to re-set the temp on my hotpoint fridge but I'm not sure how the settings on the dial should line up with the arrow markings on the fridge body ??
can someone clarify this please.

The number next to the mark is the setting. The higher the number, the colder the fridge.
...and these numbers don't mean much anyway. The only way to get a fridge running as it should (ie, at 2 to 4C) is to use a fridge thermometer. It's surprising how many domestic fridges run at way too high a temperature.....10C and higher is common!
