Anyone been affected by this? I put Zoom on my husband’s iPad so he could join in with work meetings and his grandchildren’s quizzes.
Among the photos pops up a man ... hermm hermm... doing something to an intimate part of his body.
I’ve read about this happening on Zoom but didn’t expect to see something like that before husband had even got into a meeting. I hope the grandchildren aren’t being exposed to it.

Thanks, mamya.
Yes, I accessed a training meeting and hackers put up a child abuse image which was horrific, something you can just never, ever, unsee. It's just beyond sickening and, of course, for the main victims, the poor children harmed.

From those reported, it seems to be where the meeting link is made more publicly accessible for people to join in, for example, put on a website or social media to advertise, that the hackers can find. It's possible they can hack meetings anyway, I'm not really sure.
Work meetings should be conducted on something more secure.
If this Zoom has that lack of security why is it mentioned by the media for free publicity/recognition, or used by others ? There are other conference call/meeting software programmes available.
There is a free version which I think is where the problems are not the paid for versions that are quite expensive.

For me Microsoft 365 Teams (or for home skype at the moment) is the way forward unless you are a large corporate. It's what I have bought for the family and it works well. You get the full pro versions of Work etc and 1TB of One drive. Couple this with last Pass and Authy and you have a pretty good home package - just add an AV.
It was an external one that I signed in to. I'd seen a few reports on the local media about it happening then I saw this report on Sky News:

Ah, free. One gets what one pays for ? Commercial should budget to pay for their needs. The public can make their own decisions and weigh up the risks.
