In some of his paintings there's a person that look very similiar. This is Mistress and a maid, The Lacemaker, A young woman seated at the virginals and more. I can find things about Maria but not that she are in these paintings.

I know that she could have been a artist. It's that in everything i can find about Johannes Vermeer and his paintings, i can find nothing that tells that the same person are in up to 12 of paintings and very little who she are. I like your answer even if people know nothing more currently.

A serial on R.4 last week told the tale of 'Greet' - his maid and the subject of 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring'. It was very interesting and it is possible that he used her for other paintings.
