My mum has had an operation on her hand. It will be strapped up for 4 months. I'm looking for gadgets that will make her life a little easier. Something to hold a kindle so she can use one hand. Also anything help her eat. Also any other suggestions would be amazing Thank you.

It might be worth finding the websites of the companies mentioned at the back of this booklet, to see if they've got anything which could help: http://www.rdash.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/DP4519-One-handed-activities-web.pdf (Some of the hints in the booklet itself might also prove useful).

A table or lap tray are the best bets for the kindle. Same applies to eating, using a fork or spoon.
how is she going to manage cooking?
or doing sundry chores.

^^^^^^also very good for eating gateaux etc
Can you help her out?
People do adapt to most things. Trouble is, your mum will just be getting 'good' with one hand when she'll have two again. ;)
You can buy all sorts of gadgets like one handed peelers, choppers, electric tin openers which are ideal for long term conditions but expensive for short term use. If she has nobody to help her day to day she can buy peeled and ready prepared potatoes and veg, but of course these are more expensive but they are there.

Hopefully she will prepare her clothing before hand. She will need clothes that are easy to pull on, off and toilet. Slip on shoes or easy fastener (should be easy in the summer with sandals).

I strongly recommend a rotating hot brush. My wife swears by hers and no longer uses her hair dryer, straighteners or other gadgets. Very easy to use with one hand and she will carry on using it.
This food preperation workstation. I imagine having one hand, the hardest things to do would be cook, wipe my bottom and shower.
I can wipe my bottom with one hand, and shower.
Why would you need 2 hands to wipe your bum?
