We have several pigeons that visit the garden all the time. In the last couple of days I have noticed that one has rings on both legs...blue on the left and green on the right.
I have just watered the garden and it is not bothered by my presence.
Should I attempt to catch it and read them or do some feral pigeons get ringed. Thank you

Personally, I'd leave it. It would probably get stressed.
It will be a racing pigeon. It's probably stopped over for a rest. Put some food out for it and it will go, eventually.
If it's ringed, it belongs to someone. It's not feral
it's speckled jim!
Speckled Jim! My own true love! The Flanders Pigeon Murderer!

If you can catch it, the green ring will have a traceable number on that you can report to the Pigeon Racing website.

That one's become engaged.
You can track the owner from the numbers on the rings. I did this and wasso surprised - the owner sent a van down from Crewe to collect him! Pigeon lived in our house for a week! He was too weak to fly initially.

Update
We caught the bird at about 5pm today. Reported it straight away. Received the owners details within five minutes. I phoned him straight away as, apparently, some owners don’t want them back.
He lives about 20 miles away and came straight round. Pigeon is not a racer but highly valued stock bird. It got spooked by a hawk and escaped. Owner showed me bruise on wing.
So happy ending.
Thank you all for your replies.
I'm glad it's home.
