my mums cat (jus a average tabby) always licks and chews here hair (mainly when she is asleep) apparently its sumat to do with the cat seeing you as the person that cares for him/her and is a way of showing affection. my mums cat bites her hair and pulls it too wake her up so she will give him attention.

Hope in helps
