Norton security has become a complete headache with constant pop ups telling me my protection has expired. The Norton "security" was included free for a certain period when i purchased my laptop. I do not want this anymore and trying to uninstall it is a nightmare. I can't find it anywhere when i go to Control Panel then to Programmes installed, its not there. Instead of giving me protection its giving me nothing but grief with constant reminders that i need to renew. Any adice on how to rid myself of this Norton curse would be appreciated.

you could always try resubscribing it can be bought quite cheaply on Ebay.
If you do want to go for less protection do a general search in explorer not the browser and delete the directories individually.
PS: Just ignore Norton's attempts to get you to reinstall the program after you've removed it.
PPS: Once you've removed Norton, either check that Microsoft's built-in antivirus software is running again (as Norton will have disabled it)
