After a warm and sunny week we have had a bit of rain today. Mustn't complain, the garden needs it and the water butts were getting low. This weekend would normally be a big FA Cup weekend, the Scottish National, and the flat racing in full swing. Proper shame is it not. Talk is that the racing could start up from May 5th onwards behind closed doors if the stats continue to favour it. Fingers crossed. Done the ITV7 and a little flutters as per usual all at Gulfstream. After last weeks bit of luck and a tidy pay out I am sticking with the same formula of winning jockeys allied with winning trainer stats. Good luck if you have go.

6.45 Palace Two Step* @9/4
7.15 Unbridled Holiday* @11/4
7.46 Rag Tag* @6/1
8.17 Broadway Pete* @13/2
8 48 Sieze The Hay @3/1
9.21 South Sea @11/4
9.53 Art Of Almost @7/2

****£1.00 Acca 40p Doubles and Trebles. 7, & 6 times done small stakes. Cover is available for the last runners if it all goes pear shaped again. (Worked well last week)

Still just picking blindly Ken, not doing too bad, Good Luck for today.
Meant to say Togo,sorry
Afternoon T, and good luck. Good finish last week and a nice draw. Had mixed luck throughout the week; a couple of 3/4 in short priced 50p yanks, one returning £32 and other £47. In both bets, the shortest price in each let e down, which is just how the cookie crumbles, is it not? :-//

ITV 7; Palace Two Step, Chase Runner, Holy Meister, Not Now Rand, Seize The Hay, Front Loaded and Mintd £1 e.w. acca.

7.58 TBP; Return The Favour @ 5/1
9.32 TBP; Classy Of Course @ 4/1
9.53 GSP; Mintd @ 4/1
10.57 GSP; Miss Auramet @ 4/1

Win singles, 20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = just £11 but 4 winners would see me right for £1,063.

Also a little £1 Trixie, £1 Treble on;

6.28 TBP; Northern @ 7/2
6.45 GSP; Palace Two Step @ 9/4
7.28 TBP; Total Tap @ 2/1

Poss return of £125.

As you can see, i'm sticking with the claiming races. Just cannot get an angle on the Allowance Claimers and the Maiden Claimers, etc:-(

I know what you say there Ken. I wondered what the angle was and then found that over there horses have to work their way through the ratings system which in ascending order is...Maiden, Claiming, Allowance, Stakes, and then on to the Graded races 3, 2, and as here grade(Group) 1. If you look the prize money(in general) rises as you go through the ranks but as here some tracks pay more at certain meetings. I found this link before posting.

I did have a good read up on racing Stateside a couple of weeks back, Togo, but the form lines in those allowance/maiden races are a tad misleading as are the distances. And, though I have much more time on my hands to study, there aren't as many facts to be gleaned.
As far as tonight's is concerned; 2 winners in my Trixie (9/2 and 5/2) returns just under £20. First one in L15 boiled then 2 n/rs!!! So quite a frustrating evening even though I've just about broke even.
Ad they're none too bothered about getting them away on time, are they. Typical American sloppiness:-(
Ha, just read your link and it's the one I was reading a few weeks back.
Last one in Lucky 15 trotted up and I did have a fiver on the winner of the Grade 1 'Apple Blossom' Handicap, Ce Ce @ 7/2, at Oaklawn Park. So, ended up not being a waste of a day after all :-)
Quite a rarity over the pond, handicap races. Wish there were more:-(

Afternoon Ken. I was hopeless. Had seen your post, later on last night, when I first logged in, but have been out in the garden for most of the day since. Well done. I thought I had it cracked after last week,,,,,, but obviously not. Sit on my hands until next weekend now unless something interesting turns up. I keep my eye on the ITV7 but prefer it when it is at more than one meeting.
I've just had a punt over the pond where, believe it or not, there is a 10 race meeting at Remington Park where the longest race is 3f and the shortest just a 1/2 furlong. Thought i'd clicked the wrong button and was on the greyhound page. Needless to say, I've totally swerved RP and concentrated on Tampa and Gulfstream.
