To give a donation during this coronavirus ? I have given towards an appeal for PPE but would like to give to another cause. I find I am spending less money at present. I have gone on a calorie controlled diet and I am saving on sweet foods. I'd like to donate these savings.

Is there a hospice near you, tamaris? I have read that many - like my local hospice - are facing tremendous hardship as much of their fund-raising plans have had to be cancelled due to the virus. Truly a deserving cause?
A local hospice. They will be increasingly under pressure in the coming weeks.
Yes, definitely your local hospice.
remember to give it to a reg charity - v impt
and then give with gift aid - thecharity gets 20% more in a claim back in tax.

try NOT to give for what the govt should be doing anyway
the finance dept/ treasurer/ awful bean counter will just cut their budget and say "oh goodie, saved on that".

the gubmint have jsut given charities £750m which to me is a shocking admission that the govt recognises that the charities administer at a lower cost some things than the govt does!

charitable aims - food for down and outs
