Glad to hear that. He seems very knowledgeable and trustworthy. I'm not sure he was the best face/voice for all those public information films- he didn't sound or look like someone in good health.
Matt Hancock seems to have come back looking really fresh and ready for the challenge. We know Boris is struggling and I said last week he didn't seem at all well so I hope he doesn't try to come back too soon.
I'm not sure what the position is with the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak- he has not appeared on TV for a while and loosely with Boris
Good news.
I'm not sure where the " and loosely with Boris" in my last sentence came from. I think I typed something about 'worked closely with Boris'

The Chancellor probably just appears when there is some financial info to announce.

Yes, Matt Hancock seems fully recovered.

Lol, ff ;o)
Yes, I'm glad he's recovered, he seems like a nice decent chap and I hope he takes things easy for a while.
Yes, but Sunak's better than some of the others at these briefings (Gove is generally okay in his answers but occasionally has a look of panic in his eyes and Sunak could have been there when the Business Secretary who isn't particularly inspiring was there a few days ago. Anyway, I hope Sunak is fine as we need him
Yes it's great that Prof. Whitty and Matt Hancock seem to have recovered. Let's hope Boris does likewise. Easy to criticise with hindsight but I cannot help but recall footage of the three of them in close proximity on the stairs of No. 10 when "social distancing" regulations and recommendations were about to go out. Then, of course, there's the erstwhile Chief Medical Officer for Scotland...
Well, as I said previously, he reminds me of Ian McDonald who used to make the govt announcements in the Falklands War. Ned Sherrin called him the warm up man for the Lutine Bell. Maybe Chris Whitty can inherit that title.
Encouraging to hear this. Had enough doom and gloom.
I agree with Sparkly, all doom n gloom does nowt for the morale
Glad to hear this.

Yes it's unfortunate that he presents as he does. But he can't help that and he does seem to know what he's talking about. As an aside, I never watch anything "live" on the telly these days. Always recorded so that I can scoot through the adverts and any bits I can't be bothered with. I notice that Prof. Whitty has been appearing at every break with a "Stay indoors, do not pass Go, do not collect £200" slot of about ten seconds. As I scoot through the adverts (at x30 speed) I get this quick image of him flashed up on the screen and it appears to me as some form of subliminal message!
Good for the Prof, he's been doing a fine job.
NJ, I sort of feel Whitty's face would fit nicely on a Big Brother Is Watching You poster. Just that firm, unblinking face staring out at me.

(Actually, he does blink occasionally, but not a lot.)

Seeing it flickering past as part of a subliminal message would underline the point.
"(Actually, he does blink occasionally, but not a lot.)"
and somehow i expect him to blink sideways
