I can't get to a Post Office and I want to send a paperback book to a friend. Normal size - not very thick.
If I find out how many stamps to put on can I just post it in a letter box? I ask because when Ive taken a packet to the PO before I am always asked what is in the parcel. Thanks for any thoughts

Thank you C A C but Ive got the book already.
I’ve posted things like that to Spain...weighed it and stuck the relevant, or more, amount of stamps on and put it in a post box. Never had a problem.
I have posted small packets including paperback books via postbox, never been a problem.
