So Trump has said the US won't pay for the Duke and Duchess' security, but it doesn't look like they've suggested that the US should, so what's the point of this exactly?

But residence is just a long term visit isn't it retro ? They could go back to Canada or elsewhere any time. Not saying I blame them, but it does seem uncharitable, disrespectful even.
