Need to get home but allready lost 1 ticket costing me £580 due to concerns catching virus on plane plus self isolation.
I mailed my insurance about this 5 times but they havent replied ( nationwide flex plus ) bloody useless.
I see on skyscanner flights going mid april but dont want book yet incase they go bust or stop flying then ill be out more money.
What should i do in this situation.
Visa is up too and if im stopped i risk going to immigration centre in bangkok

So the original flight did go on schedule but you chose not to travel? When was that? There has been advice about non essential travel to Thailand and that people already there should return home for at least 6 weeks. It is highly unlikely that you can claim on your travel insurance. Book the next available flight regardless of cost so that you can at least show the authorities that you are trying to get home.
Go to immigration now and get an extension to your visa. Possible 500 baht fine per day for each day you overstay. In practice it doesn't come to this much, but you will be charged it at the airport before you are allowed to leave, so why don't you get an extension now and save yourself both money and headaches!
If the flight left as normal but you chose not too fly then I can't see that your insurance will cover you tbh.
Go to the authorities and extend your visa.
can you be a bit more specific about which is your nearest international airport as one of us may be able to offer you and alternative - have some time on my hands now being self isolated to search.
Bangkok has flights via Moscow at £550.

Chose not to fly because i went into self isolation....widespread news coverage was alerting everyone...i have serious underlying health conditions so to get on a plane on 12 march was insanity.
More chance picking up virus on a plane ( google it )
>I mailed my insurance about this 5 times but they havent replied ( nationwide flex plus ) bloody useless.
I think they- like travel companies, banks, HMRC, DWP/Universal Credit, supermarket home delivery services- will be maybe 500% busier than in normal times and will also be affected by staff sickness and self isolation, so I think that we have to be understanding ourselves.
The situation is worse now, pumpjack - more people have contracted the virus. I don't understand why you didn't fly home as soon as the foreign office advised it in early Feb
If you book the April tickets on a credit card, you will be automatically covered. Unless you choose not to fly, as you did before.
You still chose not to fly - was the self isolation advise in play on 12 March (I don't think it was)
Therefore I doubt if your insurance company will pay out
Looking on the internet it was something like the 15 March that they said it was coming for 'some' but the order to do it did not come out till later - therefore you chose not to fly so you will lose out on your money back
Martin, certain categories of people were told to self-isolate in Thailand for 14 days well before the 15th March. In early March one of my friend's wife returned from Korea with all the necessary paperwork but still had to self-isolate with her husband for 14 days. The Health authorities said they would do a random check during this period and were warned to be there when they arrived. I don't know what pumpjack's reason was, but he may also have been instructed to self-isolate by the health authorities.
If that's the case and he has evidence from the Thai authorities that he was told to self isolate and UK authorities did not give that advise out till later then he will not have issues extending his visa
Are you still there? Qatar are still flying from Bangkok. It'll cost though

Yes still here untill 11 may ,at the very least.
Embasyy saying there are flights but people are booking them and then they are suspended.
