in my town like all towns cities we have an area that's mainly migrants from eastern Europe, had to drive through there today and there were at least 60/70 youths in that area of 3 streets just hanging around close together. because everything their use to is closed, this is what happens,
and a sorry sight in our own town i suppose like many more all the bars cafe and shops not open for many months are all boarded up. it looks surreal

Their parents need to take responsibility for once. If they get ill these will be the ones asking for help
I’m pleased we live a fair way out of town but I’d imagine Newcastle will be the same

I don't imagine the youths Derek is talking about are children.

No but they are probably treated as such by our "services" and officials. Easier to dismiss potential protests about their presence here in the first place.
To me youth is to the age of 18 and require some parental control
I've got a feeling me and my mates wouldn't have been listening either when young. No way of knowing now, just guessing.
Golly gee, deric33. You know darn well that it's entirely possible that someone is going to come flitting onto this thread and ask how do you know that these loungers of whom you talk are migrants, and how do you know that they are from Eastern Europe, and how do you know that they are not listening, and how do you know that they are not waiting around to help old people cross the street or offer to do some shopping for the old folks?:)
I sort of mentioned this on another virus thread the other day. Burnley has seen no reported cases of C19 so some of our youths cannot quite grasp the full seriousness of it. One of my grandsons (16 y.o.) insisted on going out with his dog as usual. He was pulled twice by the police on Wednesday and a fine was mentioned on the second occasion. He has stayed in or at his friends next door but one since then.
calmck, their parents probably aren't here.
Perhaps the initial warning that the aged and frail were most at risk ment others think they are safe .It has to made clear that EVERYONE is at risk .So as we are responsible for ourselves and others so is EVERYONE .IT NOT ABOUT FREEDOM IT ABOUT BEING UNSELFISH .And I think maybe for a while the moderators on Answerbank would let us use the words which best expresses our strong feelings on this mattter .
‘ the youth aren’t listening ‘ Why should they, they have been lectured to re social distancing. The government did not adhere to this , they now have covid 19 . It’s ok though, they only have mild symptoms.

I know this area a well known trouble spot with East Europeans and your answer is condisending
Derek-33, you completely misunderstood my post. It was a sort of tongue-in-cheek observation that some goody-goody might come along and be offended on the migrant's behalf because they are of the opinion that unlimited immigration is the best thing that happened to the country.
