Oh that is very weird. What was he thinking? Ok no crime has been committed, but...
Luckily it was a boy he was grooming. Had it been a girl, could have been a different outcome.
A pity in a way that they've decided no crime was committed - I would have thought a harassment charge would stick if nothing else.

What this decision has done has almost legitimised online abuse whereas surely we should be clamping down on it before it gets out of control (if it hasn't already).

If it ha been a couple of texts I would give him the benefit of the doubt. But hundreds ... he was obsessed with the boy and his behaviour showed a complete lack of judgement.

the recipient didn't think it was a crime either, so between them I expect they're right. Had he been a woman, I doubt there would have been any different outcome.
