public transport, doctors' surgeries and hospitals etc. Especially if you have respiratory problems and some other conditions.
That's it, I'm cancelling my hospital appointment and I suppose my opera at the ENO in London is now out of the question. I said I would make a decision nearer the time but I'm following WHO's advice.

Will any of you follow this advice?

But i may fake coughing and sneezing to keep you other's away.
WHO says the risk of a global outbreak is high. Not the risk to any particular individual.
What about people who want to visit
InmAtes in care homes?
It might mean you go back to Sainsbury from Aldi, I've been in better behaved football crowds... Sainsbury's is deserted most early mornings.
Probably can't get the staff.
I wish the ones who come into Morrison’s cafe today had heard this news.

We were extremely busy.
Reading through this thread has reminded me that I have three hospital appointments commencing Monday week over a I0 day period and need to make a GP appt too. I will see how things progress but am likely to postpone. I'm quite vulnerable and my immune system isn't very good.
I can fully understand yours ( and others ) decisions LB, Anyone that’s immune system is low for whatever reason should heed the WHO, I’m still going about my business as usual tho
Same as rowanwitch. I'm now 70 (quite how that happened I've no idea!) and have asthma. I had bronchitis last year and it laid me low for 3 months, but I'm not going to put my life on hold. I have mini handgels to clean with (and contagion seems to be the main culprit). Otherwise, proceed as normal.
Oh dear, wonder what Tesco's will say about my 63 year old friend not going to work?

Apc could you change any of them to phone appointments? That's what I'm going to try to do. If not I shan't go.
Maggie does your friend have relevant health issues?
I will Ladybirder, but will leave it until the end of this week and assess the position then. 2 of the appointments are not that important, but the other is essential.
Sorry LB I misread your post. They are not suitable appointments for phone. One involves an xray, one is physio (these two are not urgent). The third is now essential as my degenerating spine has worsened considerably over the last few months and my appointment is with the consultant.
Yes I have a very weak immune system due to medication. I will cancel all unnecessary appointments and invitations, which is annoying as I was really looking forward to a concert in a couple of weeks. I have, however, a hospital appointment to see my Specialist on Wednesday which I shall attend but will wear a mask.
I’m due to fly on holiday on the 17th, I’m concerned about that because very often someone sitting behind you will sneeze without using a hanky or sneezing into their inner elbow for example
At some point, someone may have to decide at what point trashing the economy by bringing all life as we know it to a standstill ...
is worth it.

Hopefully it won't come to it, but lurid headlines such as "Boris will stop at nothing to beat virus" are potentially rather worrying.
My main concern is that I have damaged lung alveoli due to a bird allergy, and this virus targets alveoli! I am so glad I live in the sticks and don't actually have to go anywhere.
