Who do they think they are. They're there to generate more wealth for the rich, how dare they retaliate when they don't get paid.

He retaliated against the wrong people. It was not the hotel's fault the builders didn't pay him.The court was right to convict him.
are you suggesting that being working class is an excuse for criminal damage?
the wonderful world of canary's thoughts is once again upon us!
I am unsure what point you are making with your heavy irony Canary.

Not being paid does not justify criminal damage under any circumstances, especially when directed towards an innocent party, with the potential for injury or death.

Do you feel the action was justified and appropriate?
Idiot!!
Naomi, I like to think that your epithet is aimed at the builder, but one doesn't like to assume.....!!
I guess the reaction should be proportional.
Still, they'll think twice about withholding pay again.
You are a laugh, canary.
Do you admire what he did, Canary?
Of course he should have been paid for work done, but it wasn't the fault of the Travel Lodge, so yes, he is an idiot !

Guess you have never worked in the building trade? This happens all the time so I have seen many instances of people 'getting back' at the defaulter. It's usually the van or tools. Most people dont have access to lawyers like I suspect you do.

I'm not condoning what this fella did but I do understand it.

The fact that I have recourse to legal counsel does not have any bearing on the point I have made.

I am fully aware that people often take inappropriate action in an effort to redress what they see as a wrong - but the circumstances do not alter the simple fact, it is not appropriate, which is what I have said.
£443,000 damage? What's it made of, unicorn bones and unobtanium?
The amount is clearly ridiculous unless it includes loss of profits due to a delayed opening.
Not paying wages on time should be a criminal offence.
Good grief Theland! Are you French!!?? :-P
