NJ....yes, all very well....but, as you see from earlier answers, some don't know the difference between dipped, main, high, full etc
I think you’ve messed up here, sinders. When the blue light is on, on your dashboard / instrument cluster, that’s MAIN BEAM.
My previous car had auto lights, but you had to manually switch to main beam (the blue light) on dark stretches with no street lights, which you then manually turned off when you saw a car approached so as not to dazzle them.

My new car (2 years old, same make, different model) also has auto lights, including auto main beam, but the trouble I found with this was that it didn't automatically turn off the main beam, when cars were approaching, quick enough, which resulted, understandably, in lots of approaching cars flashing me because I was dazzling them.

I had to resort to the manual to learn how to manually turn the auto main beam off...and as a man, I almost never read manuals of any kind!
Me too. Mercedes with ‘intelligent light pack’. Load of cobblers unless you want to p off a lot of oncoming drivers.
Ah, Mercedes drivers, high end Kraut louts.
Zacs - yes, I have the Mercedes intelligent light system, it's just a shame it's not intelligent enough to react as quickly as humans can!
Exactly. Rubbish . One of the reasons I went back to BMW
BMW Adaptive Laser lights...thats magic!...aint cheap though.
Skoda- Finger and Thumb activated lights. Free with purchase of car.
Wrong headlight settings, and the unnecessary brightness of them, are extremely annoying. Dipped headlights should point at the kerb, not the rear view mirror of the car in front. Lights on any vehicle are a safety feature, intended for other road users to see the vehicle, not act as searchlights. Get em sorted please!
