My daughter has a Peugeot 107 Urban 2010. She was driving home and said when she braked, she got a sort of scraping noise. She had new brake pads and discs about 20,000 miles ago. I suspect they may need renewing again. Is there anything else which could cause the noise, she said it was like something dragging on the road. Thanks

It's always possible that some grit or gravel has got stuck between the disc pad and the disc itself, particularly if she has had to drive through water recently. 20,000 miles is a very short time to wear out a set of brake pads.
Get a second opinion from a different garage to the one that did the work. My old 107 used to last nearly 40k.
It is common to pick up a stone not between the pad and disc but between the disc and backing splash plate as there is quite a large gap. The noise is horrendous and sounds like imminent brake failure!

Thank you everyone, the garage is taking a look on Monday 2nd March, their first available date. Will let you know the outcome.
Yes, I'm with mjw...had exactly that (stone between disc and backing-plate) many years ago. Terrible noise that changed when reversing.
Needed quite some dismantling by the dealer....who kindly did it under warranty (car was only a few months old).
I agree - mjw's suggestion is far more likely than mine.
