She claimed there were was an unemployed but theoretically available pool of 800,000 people who could fill the training places and jobs as a result of the new system.
Which is plainly nonsense
One could be kind and say that line was fed her by a spad, but even then I think I’d want to question it.

That’s not to say that it’s not a good thing to encourage employers to invest in training, but statements like that only discredit the idea. And the person who makes them.
I would be surprised if she survives the year at best. She seems to have fallen out with a lot of her senior staff.
