How To Set Up Netflix, Iplayer And Itv Hub

I'm usually completely useless with technology but have managed to connect my smart TV to my router, and now have internet connection on my TV.
I now want to set up iplayer and ITV hub and Netflix
I followed the instructions for iplayer which told me to go to catch up and click on the iplayer button. But when I go to the "Catch up" setting there is nothing there, just a message telling me there are no programmes there at present.
The instructions also tell me I can click on the apps button, and then click on iplayer. But the apps button is the same - just a message saying there are no programmes.
Do I need to call in an engineer to sort this out or is it something that can be done at home, even by a technological wuss like me?
