Do you fly from Bristol. Do you agree with North Somerset’s /Bristol airports crackdowns on off site parking. Is it a collusion, so the airport can charge what they like for parking?
For example. Off site parking 7 days £44. Silver zone £56. Multi story £99+. Ninety nine. I could get return to Spain for less.

But not for your car
It's an airport, what do you expect?

Yes but do you agree with NS vendetta against off site parking businesses that are offing a service, sometimes a very good affordable service to holiday makers/travelers. 24hr Drop off pick up. Undercover book in procedure, customer toilets. Parking on their own private land. Etc
We always go by taxi now if it's a local airport. It's easier, quicker, and usually cheaper. We used to use meet and greet offsite parking until we saw how cars are often abused
Maybe fly from somewhere else - travelling there might be about the same as the difference on parking.
I doubt many have experience of North Somerset council's attitude/behaviour. It's been a while since I've flown anywhere let alone from Lulsgate. When I did I used to take a taxi there.

I often disagree with council actions. Any "crackdown" needs to be limited to companies that fail to meet standards rather than blanket.
The council hasn't barred firms from operating off-site car parking. It's simply insisting that such operations must go through the normal planning consent procedures, which Z-M's links seems to suggest hasn't been happening.

£56 for 7 days sounds quite reasonable to me. It's about the same as railway station car parks charge around here and far less than some town/city centre car parks in this area.
how does it compare with the return fare for a taxi?
We usually fly from Bristol. We ask someone to drop us off, and we do the same for them. On picking up we wait in a nearby lay-by until we get a text saying they’re through security etc.

How does a taxi fare compare. I’d say £100 each way.
Why don’t you fly from another airport. Next nearest. Doesn’t have the flights. Next after that an extra 2hrs drive.
Get someone to drive/pick up. All drivers we know work through the week. Which are the flights we go for as they work out cheaper.
The off site parking was cracked down on because the people running it were using customers cars for there own use. One customer came back from holiday to find 2000 miles on his car!
£57 for 7 days is quite reasonable, especially for an official site where you keep your car keys. There are some very dodgy operators out there, especially systems where you have to hand over your car keys.
Indeed. The one we used, we locked our car in a cage and we kept the keys.that was for six weeks while we went to USA to visit Vera's brother.
