Just curious, because you wouldnt say 'he slapped him' because that implies a smack, a proper hit, to hurt, done in anger etc, whereas these friendly pat slaps are very often done in friendship and closeness

do they have a name?

i dont know, its not a pat really, its kind of inbetween a pat and slap, theyre usually pretty hard, not enough to hurt.
