My pc's viewable screen size has shrunk by about 1/2 any ideas what keys to press to recover? It's an hp Elitebook running windows 7. TIA

Right click on the desktop and select settings. See what is in there.

BTW win7 is pretty much out of support now.

where is desktop?

The desktop is the screen before looking at anything, close everything down and , voila.

Can we have some clarification, please? Is it just your browser's window that's shrunk, so that you can see the desktop (as normal) behind it or is it that there are now black bands above, below and/or to the sides of what you'd normally expect to see?

reloaded google Chrome rebooted server and all restored to normal.
