It's a notable date! Today is also Candlemas (half-way between the Winter and Spring equinoxes) so we are half-way through Winter. It is the festival of light because the days are noticeably longer and there are many folk predictions about the weather based on what happens today. It marks the presentation of Jesus at the Temple in Jerusalem and the first recognition of Him. In the U.S.A. it is 'Groundhog Day' - also a predictor of Spring and weather. It's all about beginnings. * Most importantly (pause for fanfare) it is our wedding anniversary. :)
