I saw a programme at the weekend where a group of people were on a detox and they had a coffee enema. Has this got a real benefit or just another fad? TIA

I've seen a few programmes about this now. it does seem to do the trick as it helps flush out the toxins and trapped food in your intestines. it can also help you to lose weight as it eases bloating.

just looks grim though doesn't it!?!?
I think I prefer to get my coffee fix the tradional way.
Sounds disgusting!!
Maybe it's the caffine 'rush' you'd get that's the attraction.

Not a lot of people realise it, but your body takes in whatever you put in as an enema far more effectively than if you put it in your stomach. There have been people die as a result of enemas involving alcohol. The alcohol just flooded into their bloodstream at an astounding rate, and they died of alcohol poisoning.

EG this and this.
catso,
is that why people suggest using a straw to get drunk quicker??? lol
There may be something in it as my husband always "goes" in the mornings after he`s had a coffee. If he drinks too many cups in the daytime, he gets a good "clear out". Sorry to be so graphic.
redcrx: that depends where you put the end of the straw.

beejaybee: I'm just the same! I only ever drink coffee though.
