Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series Vertical Lines/black Screen

Have the above laptop which has been working fine up to now.
When I switch it on I have a black screen and can only view the display if move the screen into one position. Also vertical white lines running down the screen. How can I get this resolved quickly please

I'm no professional but seems like you have a damaged screen. New computer might be cheaper.

Thanks for your answer. That's what I was thinking, but haven't dropped the laptop anywhere. Will look into replacements

Take it to a repair shop.

My (same effect) Inspiron developed a faulty hinge on lid. Cannibalised lid from older (less memory) lappy & voila.

a: press/secure keyboard top to monitor or unscrew to motherboard to check any loose connections at monitor.

b: buy new lid hinge.
