The Star is David. The sceptre is the messiah.
The Six pointed star made from two triangles was a nineteenth century depiction however. Te writers of the bible failed to employ an illustrator, so symolism later. Even crucifixes in biblical times tended to be single posts not crosses.

It's just 2 superimposed equilateral triangles, a basic 6 pointed star-like geometric shape. I haven't bothered looking but I'm sure it exists somewhere in early Indian iconography (along with the swastika sun)
