Does Anyone On Here Use The App Vk(Russian Version Of Facebook)

A friend has told me about an app called VK short for VKontakte (in contact). A social media app available in several languages but mainly Russian speaking. A cross between Facebook and WhatsApp.
Before I ask my friend why he's suggesting using this app, I thought I'd ask on here if anyone uses it. I'd never heard of it, and thus doubt it's that widely known or used in UK - unless you're Russian!!

Correct.
You wouldn’t.
It’s basically Russian Facebook.
But a lot more poorly policed (if you can believe that)
