I am looking for a gas only supplier (domestic) who charges the lowest standing charge. At the moment we are paying 25.25p per day and consuming no gas - hence the standing charge rules the decisions.

I have not found a convenient way to identify the lowest charging supplier. Can anyone help in the search and maybe point out the lowest rate or at least something significantly lower. It is important that this must be a gas only supplier (not dual fuel by requirement in the tariff terms).

Eddie, but you are paying a standing charge, right - how much ? Even if you stop paying/topping up the bill for it keeps mounting. That doesn't look like the answer in my case.
Yes , but you can put as little a £1 on the card at one time ! Has worked well for us for at least 7 years ! Also we often do not put any money on the card through the Summer. We have the 'No Standing Charge' option ! Slightly higher unit charge to make up for the No standing charge !

That sounds intriguing although we would then have to have the meter changed - we would pay on time and in full though. Who is your supplier on this meter and how did you arrange the no standing charge option (we will consume zero so the kWh rate could be a Pound or two each for all we care) ?
