I've got a horrible sinus headache, which paracetamol or ibuprofen barely touch. I've been inhaling steam every 2/3 hours today but it's still really painful. Any suggestions to help shift it pse??

Have you any Olbas Oil or Vicks to add to the steam inhalation?
A hot water bottle wrapped to prevent burning applied to the affected area can shift things too,
No good to you tonight but I use sterimar spray to loosen and drain the junk. If you have got any antihistamine then a tablet or nasal spray will help too

I've been using a hot flannel strategically placed, which does give a little respite but I stupidly ran out of Sterimar yesterday and forgot to get a replacement today and now the chemist is closed until Thursday! This is something I tend to get frequently in the winter but not usually as severe as this. GP refuses to give antibiotics unless I'm still suffering after a month - then I'd have to wait another two weeks to get another appointment to get them!
If you are desperate, you can sniff up a small amount of warm water with a little salt completely dissolved in it....or plain warm water
To deal with the pain, Paramol (only available from Pharmacies) will help. The codeine content will take the edge off the pain.
I used to suffer terribly with headaches, blocked nose, pain up the side of my face, pain in the eyes. Often woke up with it in the night. I have a small bottle of menthol crystals and used to dissolve a couple in boiling water and inhale the steam which usually helped enormously.

It finally shifted after 4 days of continuous steam inhalations and a combination of co-codomal 4 hourly and sterimar squirts!
if sterimar doesn't shift it, I use beconase as well.
Glad you got rid if it. There seems to be a lot of sinus infections about lately. It can be very painful and miserable. You must be so relieved..
