I have just been to the opticians and told I have cataracts in both eyes. I have been advised not to drive until they have been removed and I have been put on a waiting list for an operation.I was also advised that is is not necessary to advise the car licence people or Insurance at this stage as Iwill not be driving until they are removed. Is this right?

General advice here.

Looks like no need to tell them.

https://www.gov.uk/cataracts-and-driving
but then it says on that link
"You must tell DVLA if you’ve got any problem with your eyesight that affects either eye." and if you click on that like it says "cataracts"...
must say its confusing !
It is but if Tooj doesn't intend to drive I shouldn't think they need to do anything.

Thanks both. It is confusing, I'll keep quiet unless I hear anything to the contrary.
