I have had a Bakers Cyst behind my right knee for many years together with general swelling of the knee. Usually it gives me litle trouble but today my knee is extremely painful. I know that these cysts can rupture and produce pain in the calf but this is not where the pain is its round the front of the knee. Is wasn't this painful yesterday or for that matter first thing this morning. This pain started quite quickly, any ideas as to what could/might have happened. I have taken Ibuprofen and used an ice pack. Not much help. Thanks
