One of those silly questions I know, but plays on my mind. Last year the wife and I wanted to go out on Christmas Eve, and due to a few drinks went for to get a taxi. I was told double fare tonight, it's Christmas.
This was from a gent who APPEARED to be of a non Christian type faith.
So is it legal to be charged 2x by a taxi driver, because we are celebrating something that he may not be, or is it just a way of being shafted?

Please do not get into a racial slanging match, I have chosen my words carefullly, please follow suit.

Just came across this post (a little too late haha) and thought I’d chip in I get where your coming in my job I work Christmas Eve for normal money and I’m sure most workers do (I’m in civil engineering) I personally don’t mind about paying extra as it’s Christmas they don’t exactly get paid a huge wage so it’s like a little Christmas bonus for them it regards to the religion your not coming across as racist but think about it would it be fair for the Christian drivers to charge extra but other faiths can’t? Also he might have come here for a better life and adopt our way of life. I have loads of friends who I grew up with that their parents came in the 60s/70s/80s that did just that from all sorts of religious backgrounds but they still celebrate Christmas and buy presents for their children and then celebrate their own events in the same way. I say lucky them they basically get 2 Christmas every year I was so jealous as a kid haha. Anyway there’s my part Have a nice day (13 years ago haha)
