Does anyone have some, or have you bought some for someone special? I've just received a trinket for someone (A gift for Christmas, and I'm not even related to her) and it's no bigger than a marrowfat pea - my wallet is now £45 lighter. I thought the gift box was empty! (It was hidden under the padding) Very many asterisks were produced.

I've just sent my Sister a text message and said NEVER again...

Overpriced in my opinion but it continues to be popular.
Overpriced, and tacky in my opinion, wouldn’t spend the money on it for anyone. But as hc says, it is popular.
Had one and sold it complete with all the ‘charms’ they’re heavy and cumbersome
Not to my taste at all and very expensive for what it is.

Looks like I should have taken my own advice and read the small print...

I was getting a bit anxious about finishing off my Christmas shopping, and this person was one of the most difficult to buy for. Well, I've learned my lesson.
I have a couple of Christmas presents like that, Stephen, just needed to finish the list.. :/
I have a charm bracelet that pees me off when it clicks on the table while typing. I only wear it for special occasions as it's so annoying!
Pandora overrated IMO, but know many people who love it. Sure the recipient will love it Stephen.
A relevant Mumsnet thread that you might care to browse, Stephen:

Silver is really cheap per gram. It's like anything though - the design and branding is what costs. If you like it the buy it.
*then*
They were all the rage about 5-10 years ago. I have been given one and also bought the charms for other people, most of which I paid more than £45 for. Its very over-priced and I also rarely wear mine because it's too heavy.
Do consider returning it if you've regreted your choice. Most online purchases have very efficient returns processes with no questions asked.

Then buy something for half the price or less if its not a relative. Just a token gift that doesn't embarrass either you or her, and that you dont have to live up to next year.
does seem rather tacky
I have one no more tacky than the old style charm bracelets.
My one is full of charms given to me by my husband and dad therefore to me it’s priceless.
If that’s tacky then be it!
Of any negatives I could say about Pandora bracelets tacky is definitely not one of them. When I do wear mine (all the charms given to me with some special relevance or memory)it looks expensive (it was expensive). I just find it clatters about too much.
