Getting Rid Of Contacts On "messenger"?

Is it possible to get rid of contacts on Messenger please How do I do it both on Mobile and desktop Chris

Just swipe right to left on their name and either delete of block gpj

That only deletes that chat but does not remove from messenger list of contacts. I would like to know how as well how to remove.

delete off desktop first, then in mobile sign out of facebook, messenger is part of facebook, just to make surereboot phone sign back into fb on mobile, the contacts or contacts should be gone.
