RIP _ didn't know that he was that sort of age. Great bowler and who'll forget Headingley 1981

Question Author
Remarkably, although he took 8-43 in that Test,he never took 10 Wickets in a Test Match.
Sad news indeed - RIP Bob.
Very sad. Loved the fact that he added "Dylan" as a third given name as he was a Bob Dylan fan. After his cricket days I used to see him quite regularly travelling on the 38 bus between Green Park and Tottenham Court Road.
R.I.P. Bob Willis. Great bowler excellent commentator.
Who could forget the Brian Johnson lines when he was for once at the crease and facing a ferocious bowler from the WIndies.

"The bowler is Holding the batsmans Willis."
Actually it was Peter Willey that Johnners supposedly referred too.

He also came out with 'Lillee, caught Willey, bowled Dilley'

However, the Holding one was a spoof letter...
That batsman was - Peter Willey.

RIP Bob.
Another of Bob's great England performances....
A bit like remembering where you were when JFK was shot.

I was at the top of a ladder for the final day of the last test in '81.
Had to keep coming down to hear each ball on the radio.

Took me ages to paint that house.

I don't think I'll ever forget that day :o)
Absolutely concur a day never to forget. Thank you Bob and RIP.
Sad news, RIP Bob.
I thought he was great in Die Hard
but I didnt know he played cricket

am I allowed to write that ?
Our teacher at school would put on the cricket on the radio at registration if we were behaving ourselves and always remember listening to the 1981 tests. Happy days
