I know where you're coming from Derek. It is a very rare occurence in these times to hear a man whistling a tune. Young one probably couldn't, or haven't got time. (unless their phones would do it for them)

My Dad always whistles.....it's the one sure way my Mum can locate him in the supermarket..

Whenever I hear someone whistling I automatically look round for my Pa even if the chances of it actually being him are very remote.
Funnily enough I can't ever remember my dad whistling. However, my mum whistled from morning tonight. Our old neighbours said they knew she was up and about by her whistling and it made their day. One tune I remember clearly is "If I was a blackbird I'd Whistle and Sing"
Don’t whistle by a police horse. They pee on your highly polished boots.
:-(
Quite by chance we bumped into another couple of choir members in Morrisons (by the Deli, if you want to know). We'd had a good practice that morning and the four of us burst into song...… after a bit of bafflement, we were applauded! :)
I whistle at work (Probably because half the lyrics I'd be singing would get me sacked). Also, I can't sing, and the store muzak is horrendous.
In the supermarket yesterday a man asked if I was going to ask how big his d#@k was.

Luckily for him I am a bit deaf and didn’t realise what he had said but the bloke in the queue said to me afterwards was a bit shocked...... Not shocked enough to call him out though lol
Was he also hiding in dunes by the seaside? Or kissing baboons in the jungle?
My OH always whistles. It's nice to hear.
My OH and our 6year old grandson( in USA) have whistling competitions over Messenger, very tuneful.
Just found myself whistling along to Rule Britannia on the Remembrance Day programme!
the whistler was probably drawing attention to himself while his partner in crime filled his pockets ...

Hadn't been in the army two minutes when our sergeant asked all those who could whistle to put their hands up. Quite a few of us did so. Selecting 3 of us (me included) he said, "Right, report to the cookhouse, there's a mountain of spuds to be peeled."
