You'd think that those guys in Amazon would try to make sure that Alexa's sold in the UK would reply in a way relevant to the UK.
This morning I said "Alexa, good morning" and was promptly informed that "daylight saving time" had occurred overnight along with something about people having an extra hour in bed. Err... FYI, this occurred last week in the UK Alexa.

Alexa-enabled devices are linked to your Amazon account...that's how "she" knows where you are, geographically.

It's all very odd. It does indeed look as if there is some setting that makes her think I'm in the USA but I can't get my head around the fact that she knows where I am in respect of my local time and local weather.
Ginjebee, linking the Amazon account to Alexa would indeed enable her to know where I am geographically, but I can't see how she decides to announce that Daylight Saving Time has happened overnight. The only place that happened was in the USA

The link you provided 4candles gives my location as a few miles from where I actually am in the UK.

Thanks for the suggestion. It was certainly worth a try.
Ah well, it rules out that theory then. :(
