found a quiche in the freezer dated end of April this year, will it be safe to eat it for tea today ?

Yes, just let it defrost then put it in the oven about 180 for twenty minutes or so and it will be fine.

It was in the freezer, it'll be edible. Eaten stuff out of a freezer much later than just 6 months out. Freezer more or less stops the clock.

It will possibly have dried out and then ice crystals will have melted to make all surfaces a bit wet but on heating in an oven (not a microwave oven though) should render it more or less as intended.

It might depend on if it says 'Suitable for home freezing' on the box.'
or if it was already frozen when you bought it.
Had one the other day dated February and it didn’t taste any different from usual.
I have in the past bought food that I've frozen without reading the box and when it defrosted the ?composition? of it had changed and it said on the box 'Not suitable for Home Freezing', so I try to remember to check that first now.
