So.. the lib dems are the only party to say they will remain in the EU and call the whole farce off.

However, there is about 4 parties, saying they will all do brexit differently.

If all the remainers voted for the lib dems, and then all the brexeteers votes were slplit 4 ways, surely the lib dems are bound to win?

Thoughts?

Nothing does if it disagrees with your standpoint.

My standpoint is to not have a standpoint
//Now, brexeteers moan at remainers because, as they say, were crying because the vote didn't go out way, even though it was so close, and was based on lies, and racism, and propoganda.
Don't you think the whole situation is a little.. Ironic?//

No. If the vote had gone the other way (based on lies and propaganda such as Mr Osborne’s statement which I quoted) I would not have complained. As I said, it’s what politicians do. I’ve been lied to copiously by politicians trying to persuade me to vote for them in the past. It’s their job to try to deceive me and my job to see through their lies.

I like your contention that the EU is democratic. One of the reasons I (and many others) voted to leave is because it’s precisely the opposite. The MEP’s that you elect (from a list prepared by the parties, not for anyone personally) have no particular powers. They cannot propose or amend legislation; they can only block it (only to see it re-presented to them a month later virtually unchanged). The EU exhibits a huge democratic deficit.

You quaintly say that remaining in the EU is the status quo. All that is static about the EU in those circumstances is that our name continues to be included in the list of members.

//This is the most critical general election, i will probably ever face in my time on this earth.//

You said you didn’t want drama so you should not be so dramatic. If we leave the EU – even in the unlikely event that we left properly rather than under some sort of “deal” - incredible as it may seem life will go on.

The Lib-Dems betray everyone who stands with them.
In 2010 they shafted the student vote by helping the Tories triple tuition fees and lumber 3/4 of graduates with such enormous and high interest (inflation+3%) debts they'll literally never pay them off despite entire working lifetimes of monthly repayments.

In 2011 they utterly shafted the anti-war demographic (and desecrated Charles Kennedy's political legacy) by helping David Cameron to turn Libya into a lawless terrorism breeding ground full of Islamist extremists, warring militias, people smugglers, and actual slave markets (a catastrophic decision that resulted in the blowback of the horrific Manchester Arena bombing which was carried out by a murderous Islamist extremist trained in the Libyan terrorism breeding grounds).

The Anyone But Tory tactical voters were rewarded for their support with the absolute betrayal of Lib-Dem politicians like Jo Swinson being even more loyal to the Tory whip between 2010 and 2015 than actual Tory leadership candidates like Jeremy Hunt and Michael Gove!

The electoral reform supporters suffered an enormous betrayal as the Lib-Dems jettisoned their promises of electoral reform in return for David Cameron stuffing literally dozens of unelected Lib-Dem peers into the House of Lords (which they used to say they wanted to abolish!).

And today the Lib-Dems are playing their cynical betrayal games again, for the entire nation to see.
Jo Swinson has stood up in parliament to demand 3-way leaders' debates, meaning the exclusion of other parties like Plaid Cymru, the Greens, and the SNP.
Only a few months ago Plaid and the Greens decided to do the Lib-Dems a massive favour by standing aside in the Brecon and Radnorshire by-election, which helped the Lib-Dems scrape just over the winning line.
What's their reward for actively lending their support to the Lib-Dems?
Getting ruthlessly shoved aside in a desperate Lib-Dem bid to sideline other parties and greedily hog all the 'alternative party' limelight for themselves.

It's absolutely mind-boggling that people still don't get it.
The Lib-Dems don't give a damn about anything, they don't have any principles or moral compass whatever, they're only interested in bagging another taste of second hand Tory power, and they'll say exactly what they think they need to say to con the gullible into supporting them, then they'll repay the people they've duped with one callous hard-faced betrayal after another.
We've seen them do it over and over again for the best part of a decade, and they're still at it now.
So why on earth are so many people such willing dupes that they get suckered in by them time and again?
Actually it was the Brexit Party which handed Brecon to the LDs. If they had not stood the Tories would have won.
Someone has found some misinformation spread related to leavers ?! That's hard to believe. How could anyone pick such a thing out amongst the vast avalanche of remoaner lies, exaggeration, misinformation, unfair accusations and fantasy ?
