My son has the above, we have had all sorts of medication from the docs and nothing seems to be clearing it. It is very itchy and bloody. Can anybody suggest anything at all. He has had all different shampoos and hydrocortisone treatments, but nothing seems to clear it up.

Go back to the GP and DEMAND a referral to the local dermatology clinic.
^^beat me to it, Chris. That's the way to go. I have a friend who is a dermatologist and it's surprising how many people he sees who have been mis-diagnosed and are being given inappropriate treatment by their GP.
Why do you seek advice from ABers, rather than qualified medical practitioners?
DEMAND all you like, but it is the GP who decides referral......not you.
That is not the way to go about it and on the NHS the waiting list to see a Dermatologist may be 6 months or more.
I agree with that history AB is not going to give you a coherent advice, but you do need to see a Consultant.
If you can afford it......go privately.
Which one is it?

Thanks all. He's been 4 times already, some stuff has worked a bit, but I just thought somebody might have an answer to help. He will have to go private, and yes he can afford it Sqad. It has only started in the last three months or so. There are some qualified practitioners on AB.
Coal Tar shampoo?
Tea tree oil shampoo? Tea tree is wonderful.
A consultation would help him greatly so that's the first step.

Goats Milk Shampoo bars are very soothing if it is Psoriasis.
I had psoriasis very badly and nothing worked. It ended up going on its own.

Being itchy and bloody makes me think it could be eczema.
I developed head to food psoriasis after taking steroids. I was in hospital for a month. I had chemo injections in my stomach that cured it but I lost all my hair and nails.
Did it never come back, Caran?
OH just had this problem and Tgel shampoo every two days for a fortnight seems to have done the trick . Don't know whether you have tried Tgel?
No it didn't come back at all. Took a time for scars to disappear though.
I looked horrendous. I was in a small room so I didn't upset any other patients. The only exercise I had was in the middle of the night with a scarf over my head and face and I would walk round the hospital.
Hope your son finds help with this awful condition soon.
