Is she suppose to be addicted to Codeine?

I don't watch EE and this quote (from a discussion forum) is from over a year ago but it looks like it's probably still relevant:

"Something just made sense to me, why Rainie had codeine in her bag to give to the drug addicted mother, it's because she's either pretending to be clean or is actually trying to stay clean but is weaning herself off of heroin.

Codeine can be used by heroin users to keep them from going cold turkey as it's an opiate but if she took enough of it, it would outright replace it (although she would have to take LOTS of it to have the same effect as heroin).

I can see a bit of tragedy coming from this story with Rainie overdosing or something."

I know I always say it's just a soap but showing someone get hooked on prescription meds so quickly is a bit irresponsible imo. It could stop people taking them when they really do need them out of fear.

I got codeine based painkillers a few years back - all I got was constipated.

Yep there is some form of alcohol in mouthwash I believe

^^^ Ethyl alcohol used to be a standard component of mouth wash but these days many brands are now alcohol free.

I know she was an addict but I can't see any spiraling back to the same level as before within a few weeks, Codeine might be opium based but it's not like jacking up.

Wolf...same. Take Codeine and wash it down with a laxative, I only take one a day if really needed.
