My Very Unpopular Belief

I believe that cats and dogs kept in rescue centres and shelters for more than 4 months should be humanely killed (put to sleep sounds better).

I would never be cruel to an animal, my own dogs have all been rescue dogs and have been loved and cared for until their old age. My cats have all come from rescue centres, too.

There are far too many unwanted dogs and cats who will never be rehomed for any number of reasons. The longer they are kept in shelters the less likely they are to ever be rehomed. I don't think it is a good life for the animals but I do know those looking after them do their very best.

The time and resources put in to keeping animals in shelters long term could be diverted more usefully and effectively.

Am I a lone voice?

That is quite amusing :)
There are a lot of humans (?) that should be "put to sleep" before we start on dogs and cats!
