Didn't quite know where to post this, can anyone advise me on the best type of hedgehog house to get please ? there is going to be houses built across the road from us and I know the hedgehogs live over there, but they come into our garden every night so I thought I would put a couple of little houses in the garden for them, the igloo type look good but there are so many to choose from.

I’ve got an igloo style one but no one has moved in but my feeder is very popular. Could you ask the builder of the new houses to put in hedgehog highways in the fences, it’s just small holes to allow for the free movement of hedgehogs and other small animals - https://www.hedgehogstreet.org/help-hedgehogs/link-your-garden/
Good advice from Sherr there. Hedgehog Street is a lovely website.

I have two of these in my big garden. Only one has been occupied so far, hope for the other one to be snaffled up this Autumn.

Mine is a heavy duty oak one with an igloo style entrance hole, to keep em safe.
You only need a hole at the bottom of the fence the size of a CD disk to allow them in and out.
Not cheap but recommended by the British Hedgehog Preservation Society:

Another vote for the Hogilo from Buen. :-)
My daughter has several hedgehogs come into her garden every night without fail. They’re so cute.

thank you everyone, now I want to know what to put in for bedding or do they do that themselves?
// Inside you can make it more inviting to hedgehogs by half filling with dry leaves or straw. When you have made a hedgehog house, place it in a quiet part of your garden, preferably against a bank, wall or fence and hope that you will have a visit from a friend seeking a home.//

Good luck.
If you do get any, you need to leave food and water out all year for them.

Thank you, yes we always leave food out for them anyway.
